Location: Remote, based in the United States or Mexico. US hiring is currently available in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Salary: $218,000 annually in San Francisco and New York; $207,000 in Austin, Boston, Chicago, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, and Seattle; $185,500 annually in other eligible US locations. Mexico compensation: MX$132,916.67 per month gross via a local third-party entity.

What you will do
- Design post-petition supporter journeys and email flows that re-engage signers, communicate petition impact, and encourage repeat civic actions.
- Extend the modular email system with reusable components, templates, variables, and documented patterns in Figma.
- Create cohesive layouts, imagery, and brand-forward assets for automated lifecycle emails in collaboration with Marketing.
- Use user empathy and qualitative research to align narrative, visuals, and messaging with supporter motivations and emotional states.
- Balance brand expression, performance goals, accessibility, and technical email constraints across lifecycle experiences.
- Use design-focused AI tools to explore variations and accelerate production while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing lifecycle communications for consumer or mission-driven products.
- Portfolio demonstrating visually striking emails, strong typography and layout, systems thinking, and original asset creation.
- Expertise in Figma, including components, variables and tokens, Auto Layout, libraries, and modular email systems.
- Experience designing chaptered user journeys that increase repeat engagement and encourage follow-up actions.
- Strong email craft, including mobile-first layouts, accessibility and alt text, dark mode, image optimization, and CTA hierarchy.
- Professional-level English proficiency is required.

- Basic HTML and CSS for email.
- Civic technology or nonprofit experience.
- Growth or lifecycle design experience.
- Strong email copywriting skills.
