Mold Process Technician (Injection Molding)

Location: On-site in Plymouth, Minnesota, United States. Weekend night shift: Thursday 12 a.m.–6 a.m., Friday and Saturday 6 p.m.–6 a.m., and Sunday 8 p.m.–6 a.m. This role is open only to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals with refugee or asylee status due to ITAR regulations.

Salary: $30.38–$41 per hour, plus a $3.40 per hour shift differential and a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Set up and start injection molding machines, molds, materials, and UR robotic systems.
• Develop and apply machine operating parameters using decoupled and scientific molding practices.
• Inspect parts, measure required dimensions, and document process specifications and cycle times.
• Troubleshoot mold cycling, mold function, cosmetic defects, and dimensional quality issues.
• Evaluate mold modifications and repairs, investigate new materials, and determine molding parameters.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing work area.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree or technical certification in a related field, or five years of related experience.
• Experience adjusting process parameters to correct cosmetic and dimensional defects in injection-molded plastic parts.
• Knowledge of decoupled molding techniques, engineering-grade resins, machine process control, and molding technology.
• Ability to use measuring instruments, computers, calculators, hand tools, and stationary power tools.
• Ability to safely handle sharp and heavy objects and lift or move more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and write in English; this role requires eligibility to work under U.S. ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment, including processing and setups.
