is implementing the SURAGGWA programme with the Green Climate Fund and African partners to restore degraded land, strengthen climate resilience, and improve livelihoods across the Sahel.
What you will do
- Coordinate administrative processes between the Programme Coordination Unit, country offices, the Regional Office for Africa, headquarters, and programme partners.
- Support programme budgeting, work planning, financial monitoring, reporting, and administrative controls.
- Provide administrative support to steering committees, technical committees, coordination forums, meetings, workshops, and missions.
- Maintain structured, audit-ready records covering contracts, travel, assets, human resources, governance, and programme documentation.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, separation, contract administration, timesheet and leave tracking, and coordination with Human Resources.
- Monitor compliance with rules, regulations, and applicable Green Climate Fund administrative requirements.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, public administration, management, international relations, or a related field.
- At least seven years of relevant experience in administrative support, programme coordination, or institutional management, preferably with the UN or an international organization.
- Working knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of another official language are required.
- Experience coordinating complex or multi-country programmes, with relevant financial management, administration, planning, and programme monitoring experience.
- Strong organizational, coordination, planning, records management, compliance, and governance documentation skills.
- Proficiency in standard office software and corporate ERP systems, with the ability to draft complex documents in English.
Nice to have
- Experience working in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions.
- Knowledge of UN or administrative rules and procedures.
- Working or intermediate knowledge of French.
