Senior Investigator (Market Surveillance)

What you will do

• Own complex market-abuse investigations from initial evidence gathering through written findings and stakeholder presentations.
• Lead or contribute to threshold and surveillance-model reviews, recalibrating rules as products, trading behaviour, and market structure evolve.
• Support the design and integration of surveillance capabilities for new products, venues, and data sources.
• Contribute to market-abuse risk assessments across products, jurisdictions, and entities, translating findings into surveillance coverage.
• Use generative AI and automation for evidence gathering, case reconstruction, and detection-model development while retaining human oversight.
• Support conflicts of interest, information barriers, and personal account dealing matters within Markets Compliance.

Requirements

• Experience investigating market abuse or trading conduct within an exchange, broker-dealer, trading venue, or comparable regulated trading business.
• Proven ability to run investigations end to end, write regulator-ready findings, and present conclusions to stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of spoofing, wash trading, insider trading, front running, ramping, and other market-abuse typologies.
• Experience with threshold and model calibration, surveillance-platform integration, market-abuse risk assessments, and audit remediation.
• Familiarity with surveillance platforms such as Scila, Nasdaq SMARTS, Eventus, or NICE Actimize, plus SQL or a similar query tool.
• Clear, evidence-first written communication and experience with e-comms surveillance.

• Exposure to crypto-asset markets.
• Buy-side or asset-management experience relevant to conflicts of interest, information barriers, or personal account dealing.
