TL;DR
Senior Civil and Structural Design Engineer (Civil 3D): Developing civil and structural layouts, 2D drawing packages, 3D models, material take-offs, and as-built documentation for the Majnoon project with an accent on RCC foundations, structural steel, roads, drainage, and multidisciplinary coordination. Focus on clash and interface checks, integrating engineering inputs, resolving construction queries, and producing detailed drawings for fabrication and construction.

Location: Onsite in Basra, Iraq. Open to expatriates and Iraqi nationals.

What you will do

  • Develop civil and structural bills of materials, layouts, detail drawings, and 2D drawing packages.
  • Create civil grading and roadway models using Civil 3D and develop 3D models for RCC foundations, piles, pile caps, structural steel, pipe racks, platforms, shelters, roads, and drains.
  • Prepare general arrangement drawings, structural details, base plates, anchor bolts, earthworks, excavation, drainage, underground piping, foundations, and building layouts.
  • Perform layout clash and interface checks, coordinate interdisciplinary inputs, and issue drawings for Inter-Discipline Checks.
  • Prepare material take-offs, review vendor drawings, and verify compliance with project and contract requirements.
  • Resolve construction and fabrication queries, update the 3D model, and prepare red-line markups and as-built drawings.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced use of AutoCAD and Navisworks.
  • Experience with civil and structural design, 2D and 3D modeling, engineering drawings, and material take-offs.
  • Experience supervising small teams.
  • Availability for onsite work in Basra, Iraq.
