What you will do
- Manage the full Japan employee lifecycle, including onboarding, transfers, contract changes, and offboarding.
- Own Japan HR compliance, employment-law requirements, statutory documentation, and compliance audits.
- Configure and maintain Workday workflows, reporting, and employee data integrity.
- Apply AI and agentic solutions to HR process design, workflow mapping, data analysis, and compliance improvement.
- Support performance management, employee relations, employee inquiries, and organisational change in Japan.
- Provide HR business partnering support across assigned APJ markets and time zones.
Requirements
- Fluency in Japanese and English is required.
- Experience in People Operations, HR Shared Services, or HRBP roles with hands-on Japan HR process delivery.
- Experience providing HRBP support across more than one APJ market.
- Hands-on Workday experience, including configuration, workflows, and reporting.
- Experience with AI or agentic solutions in HR, including process design, workflow mapping, and data analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Japan employment law, statutory compliance, and HR best practices.
