State and Local Tax Intern - Winter 2028

Location: Dallas, United States; travel to assigned client locations is required, with reliable transportation needed.

Compensation: $34–$40 per hour

What you will do

• Integrate state and local tax services with existing client engagements.
• Complete tax planning and research assignments.
• Develop knowledge of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
• Review client tax processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to reduce tax exposure.
• Analyze historical purchasing and sales data for reporting requirements, audit procedures, refunds, and credits.
• Evaluate sales and use tax software and assist with implementation.

Requirements

• At least 90 completed credit hours.
• Working toward a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Accounting major.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations and arrange reliable transportation.

Nice to have

• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Ability to work effectively on a team and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
