Data Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Buenos Aires; currently fully remote, with a planned transition to a hybrid, hub-centric model in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo.

What you will do

• Lead, scale, and mentor the core data engineering squad.
• Provide leadership and strategic oversight for the DBA team.
• Drive streaming and batch infrastructure projects using GCP, BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Flink.
• Embed AI into pipeline development, platform operations, and data access layers.
• Ensure transactional database reliability, uptime, and integration with the analytical platform.
• Set standards for data quality, testing, observability, documentation, governance, and cloud cost optimization.

Requirements

• Experience leading data engineering teams while writing code, reviewing pull requests, and solving complex system problems.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery and cloud data processing.
• Practical experience with dbt and Apache Flink or Dataflow for real-time streaming data.
• Experience using AI coding assistants and automation workflows.
• Experience managing relational database teams working with technologies such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Advanced English is required. Spanish is a plus.
