Senior Engineer II – Mechanical Design (Aerospace)

Location: New Port Richey, Florida, United States. The role involves working in office, engineering, production, manufacturing, laboratory, and testing environments, with approximately 10%–25% travel to customer sites, suppliers, manufacturing facilities, test sites, and company locations.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and qualification of new mechanical fluid-system products that meet customer requirements and delivery objectives.
• Generate and review mechanical designs for safe, reliable, robust, manufacturable, serviceable, and maintainable solutions.
• Lead cross-functional teams involving design engineers, draftsmen, technical writers, configuration specialists, and scientists.
• Drive continuous improvement, VAVE initiatives, technology adoption, and manufacturing process improvements focused on cost and efficiency.
• Lead troubleshooting and technical problem-solving with customers, suppliers, sales, operations, program management, and laboratory services.
• Develop advanced products and processes while coaching and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 8 years of mechanical design engineering experience involving aerospace fluid-system products, pressure-containing components, manifolds, housings, aerospace hardware, or comparable engineered products.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials and component selection, fluid systems, and the integration of multiple manufacturing processes.
• Experience leading substantial design projects, engineering initiatives, technical meetings, and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of international drawing standards, including BS8888, ANSI Y14.5 or equivalent, tolerancing, GD&T, fits, and interfaces.
• U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required because the role involves export-controlled technology and technical data.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or equivalent advanced technical experience.
• Experience with filtration products.
