Senior/Staff Autonomy Engineer (Spatial Intelligence)

What you will do

• Architect the spatial intelligence layer combining 3D geometry and semantic scene understanding for safe navigation and locomotion.
• Develop 3D spatial reasoning, persistent spatial memory, state estimation, mapping, and localisation capabilities.
• Own the perception lifecycle, from training large-scale multimodal networks to deploying them on edge hardware with ultra-low latency.
• Implement state-of-the-art 3D representations that track and interpret the environment.
• Collaborate across research, engineering, and robotics teams to integrate models into reliable robot systems.
• Evaluate new model architectures, benchmarks, and datasets for the embodied AI roadmap.

Requirements

• Exceptional software engineering skills and a record of shipping complex machine learning systems into production.
• Strong experience with 3D scene understanding and efficient spatial data structures.
• Deep experience in machine learning for vision or embodied AI, including large models such as VLMs, transformers, or multimodal architectures.
• Proficiency in PyTorch and hands-on experience building, fine-tuning, and deploying large-scale machine learning systems.
• Ability to take projects from conceptual research through to high-performance robot code.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, research-driven environment with evolving models, data, and tools.
