Staff Java Software Engineer (Identity Security)

Salary: $133,100–$224,436 USD annually for US-based employees. Additional compensation may include a corporate or role-specific bonus and equity participation.

What you will do

• Design, estimate, implement, and deploy features based on product requirements.
• Build scalable, reliable Java microservices within an AWS-hosted, cloud-native architecture.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and guide practical architectural decisions.
• Review code, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain high engineering standards.
• Lead proofs of concept and research tools, frameworks, and development methodologies.
• Participate in on-call support for critical team systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java experience and advanced object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience with AWS, IAM/IGA, compliance, security, or privacy.
• Advanced experience with large-scale databases, messaging, queues, and event technologies such as Redis or Kafka.
• Deep understanding of SaaS architecture, microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with strong communication and independent problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airflow-based ETL workflows, data lakes, Snowflake, Databricks, or cloud-native data-lake services.
• Experience with continuous delivery and service-level objectives.
• Experience with observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning, including AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Cursor.
• Experience instrumenting code to collect production performance metrics.
