Head of Data Science (AI)

What you will do

• Build a value-based backlog across payment performance, revenue recovery, sales and marketing operations, growth, monetisation, risk, trust, and compliance.
• Deliver hirify.global's first automated decisioning system end to end, including analysis, feature engineering, model or agent development, deployment, shadow testing, and A/B testing.
• Operate live decisioning systems, including monitoring, retraining, drift response, incident handling, rollback, and performance tracking.
• Establish the production stack with Data Platform and Engineering, including reproducible training data, model registries, inference services, feature stores, evaluation harnesses, trace observability, and monitoring.
• Measure and report financial value against incumbent strategies, working with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Set governance for automated decisioning and build a hub-and-spoke team of senior data scientists and machine learning engineers.

Requirements

• Experience leading data science or machine learning teams that own production systems and deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, feature engineering, model and agent evaluation, and production deployment.
• Experience with both traditional machine learning and agentic systems, including uplift modelling, feature pipelines, tool and context design, retrieval iteration, evaluation, and trace observability.
• Strong production ML and engineering knowledge covering training pipelines, model registries, inference services, feature stores, drift detection, latency, availability, observability, and rollback.
• Experience hiring, developing, and setting standards for senior data scientists and machine learning engineers.
• Experience in payments, fintech, subscriptions, high-volume commercial operations, or another regulated transactional domain, with familiarity with GDPR, the EU AI Act, auditability, and model risk governance.
