Lead Field Service Technician (Hydrogen Fuel Cells)

Location: Ridgeville, South Carolina, United States; onsite at the Walmart customer site

Pay rate: $24.50–$25.50 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fuel cell systems installed in electric lift trucks.
• Perform preventative maintenance, field retrofits, software and hardware upgrades, and emergency customer support.
• Maintain hydrogen storage, delivery, fueling, pad, dispenser, and compressor systems where required.
• Manage site work orders, parts and inventory, service logs, incident reports, inspections, and daily operational documentation.
• Lead customer-site performance, maintain truck availability targets, coordinate audits and inspections, and preserve hydrogen system pressure above 5,000 psi.
• Mentor onsite technicians and communicate priorities, equipment status, safety matters, and system updates to customers and service management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• Three or more years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience; formal training may be considered in lieu of direct experience.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to safely operate a vehicle, and ability to lift 50 pounds regularly without assistance.
• Ability to use mechanical and electrical tools, multimeters, standard procedures, service systems, and safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, organization, independent work, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide a standard personal set of tools; specialized fuel cell tools are provided by hirify.global.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications.
• Experience with hydrogen systems, fueling equipment, GenDrive models, hydrogen compressors, and high-pressure testing tools.
