Publishing Consultant I (Digital Commons)

Location: Singapore - ELS Winsland House; fully remote work with a team distributed across Cairo, Amsterdam, Singapore, and the US.

What you will do

• Onboard university and institutional clients and configure Digital Commons repositories around their workflows.
• Serve as a primary contact for editors and librarians on publishing strategy and platform issues.
• Train non-technical academic staff on unfamiliar tools and systems.
• Partner with a Strategic Advisor on journal indexing, editorial policy, and competitive positioning.
• Build practical HTML and CSS troubleshooting skills to resolve client issues and support launch deadlines.

Requirements

• Fluent Mandarin and English, written and spoken, are required.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, cross-time-zone environment with strong self-management.
• Technical aptitude and willingness to learn how publishing systems work; prior HTML experience is not required.
• Strong written English for professional correspondence and sound judgment when escalating issues.
• Publishing or editorial experience is advantageous; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
