Field Sales Engineer, Eastern Canada (Physical Security)

Location: Based in Montreal, Quebec, or the surrounding area; remote candidates will not be considered. The role requires travel within the assigned region for up to 50% of the time and occasional on-site visits. Access to a vehicle is required for some meetings and site visits.

Approximate total compensation: $100K–$125K, including a 90% base, 10% commission OTE, and corporate bonus.

What you will do

• Provide pre-sales engineering and technical solutions support across the Axis hardware and software portfolio.
• Prepare technical sales materials and develop system design recommendations.
• Present product demonstrations and training seminars on-site and through webinars.
• Coordinate site visits, surveys, proof-of-concept activities, and trial installations.
• Provide in-depth on-site troubleshooting and solutions support.
• Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, sales support, and other Field Sales Engineers.

Requirements

• Fully bilingual French and English, written and verbal, is required.
• Strong knowledge of physical security and IT markets.
• Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, transport protocols, switches, infrastructure, and troubleshooting.
• Technical writing, public speaking, presentation, and documentation skills, including video, audio, and network topologies.
• Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in IT, networking, computer science, or security and information risk management.
• At least 3 years of industry experience in customer-facing systems design, engineering, project management, integration, or development roles; ability to work at heights and lift 20–40 lbs.
