Senior Manager, R&D Pectin and Seaweeds (Food Ingredients)

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary R&D organization focused on pectin and seaweed ingredient technologies.
• Drive strategic innovation and product development programs from concept through commercialization.
• Set priorities, allocate resources, manage budgets, and strengthen capabilities across the R&D portfolio.
• Build partnerships across R&D, commercial, operations, regulatory, customers, academia, and external innovation networks.
• Ensure scientific rigor, customer relevance, continuous improvement, digital tools, data-driven decisions, and intellectual property generation.
• Attract, coach, develop, and retain scientific talent while leading organizational transformation and succession planning.

Requirements

• MSc degree or higher in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 5 years of people leadership experience managing a significant or mid-sized technical, scientific, or R&D team.
• Strong technical expertise in pectin and/or seaweed-based ingredient technologies and their food, beverage, or related applications.
• Proven experience leading innovation, product development, and commercialization programs in a complex business environment.
• Experience managing budgets, resource allocation, strategic prioritization, organizational change, and transformation.
• Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, communication, coaching, talent development, and succession planning skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced academic background in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Experience in global ingredient, food, beverage, or specialty ingredient organizations.
• Success building intellectual property, platform technologies, and strategic external innovation partnerships.
