Associate Vice President, Manufacturing (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Full-time, onsite role with occasional travel and a day shift.

Salary: CAD 150,586–235,290 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead Manufacturing, Technical Operations, and Quality Investigation functions as a member of the Site Leadership Team.
• Own operational and financial performance, including revenue delivery, budgeting, resource allocation, productivity, margins, and capital planning.
• Develop manufacturing strategies, capacity plans, readiness programs, and scalable operating capabilities to support growth and new customer programs.
• Partner with Engineering and cross-functional leaders on process equipment, product innovation, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and technical operations.
• Represent the organization in strategic customer and manufacturing partner discussions, business reviews, and senior-level negotiations.
• Build high-performing leadership teams and champion operational excellence, continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and sustainable problem-solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent senior leadership experience in Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is an asset.
• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, CDMO, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional organizations with accountability for operational, financial, customer, safety, quality, productivity, cost, and schedule outcomes.
• Knowledge of biotech and API manufacturing operations, scheduling, supply chain, maintenance, engineering, quality, and technical operations interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of ICH Guidelines, cGMP regulations, quality systems, EHS, regulatory compliance, lean manufacturing, KPIs, and continuous improvement.
• Professional-level written communication, negotiation, decision-making, change leadership, stakeholder management, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills.
