Stakeholder & Community Engagement Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Act as the primary local representative and build relationships with authorities, planning bodies, MPs, political stakeholders, community leaders, and representative groups.
• Develop stakeholder maps, engagement plans, and structured community engagement programmes.
• Lead consultations, public meetings, and briefings with clear, accessible, two-way communication.
• Track enquiries, complaints, community concerns, political opposition, media issues, and emerging risks.
• Work with programme and contractor teams to embed community considerations into project delivery and key decisions.
• Develop local impact partnerships covering jobs, skills, supply-chain opportunities, and community benefits.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience in community engagement, public affairs, local government, or a related field.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust and credibility quickly.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex projects clearly.
• Experience working in politically sensitive or regulated environments.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and maintain strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Understanding of local communities and decision-making structures, particularly the UK planning system.
