What you will do
- Own financial management for the Uganda entity, including monthly management reporting and executive commentary.
- Manage the end-to-end monthly close covering accruals, prepayments, intercompany balances, depreciation, and foreign exchange.
- Monitor the loan book, analyse repayment behaviour by customer cohort, and manage provisioning and bad-debt trends.
- Lead treasury, compliance, statutory reporting, regulatory reporting, and documentation for funding and due-diligence processes.
- Partner with commercial leadership on unit economics, product launches, pricing, supply decisions, and board-level financial cases.
- Identify automation opportunities and strengthen financial controls and reporting infrastructure.
Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant through ACCA, CPA(U), CA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in finance management or a senior finance role with ownership of statutory and management reporting cycles.
- Deep applied knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9, IFRS 16, IAS 21, revenue recognition, and IFRS 18 readiness.
- Experience managing audits end-to-end, from file preparation through responding to auditor queries.
- Strong financial modelling and communication skills, including complex multi-scenario modelling in Excel.
- Knowledge of the Ugandan fintech, lending, or asset-financing sector is advantageous but not required.
