Staff Software Engineer, Android (Aerospace)

An aerospace technology company building an advanced air mobility platform and consumer software products for the general aviation industry.

What you will do

• Own the Android application for a mature consumer product with an established daily user base.
• Build new features, refine existing experiences, and maintain feature parity with the iOS application while applying appropriate Android conventions.
• Ship Play Store releases, triage crashes, and improve performance across the long tail of Android hardware.
• Contribute to mobile, web, and internal-tool projects across the software organization.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code and agentic coding workflows.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, primarily developing user-facing client software shipped through the Play Store.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong Kotlin experience and sufficient Jetpack Compose experience to form informed technical opinions.
• Experience taking products from 0 to 1 and building their first version.
• Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and make independent technical decisions.

Nice to have

• Ability to write Swift in addition to reading it.
• Web frontend experience with React or a similar technology.
• Full-stack engineering experience.
• Experience shipping software in a regulated or safety-adjacent industry.
