What you will do
- Develop, write, and debug production-grade C and C++ firmware for microcontrollers and Embedded Linux platforms.
- Build Linux drivers and control software for sensors and actuators.
- Integrate ROS and ROS2 middleware with high-level computing systems and low-level firmware.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and mechanical engineering teams to define interfaces and integrate robotic components.
- Maintain technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and ensure long-term software quality.
- Support the full product lifecycle, including safety design, abnormal-condition handling, and root-cause analysis of market issues.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in C and C++ for resource-constrained and real-time environments.
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation.
- Strong experience with Embedded Linux, RTOS, firmware development, and device drivers for mass-produced products.
- Practical experience with ROS or ROS2 and communication protocols including CAN, UART, I2C, and SPI.
- Strong cross-functional communication, technical writing, and system documentation skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with motor-control algorithms for DC or BLDC motors, PID tuning, and Field-Oriented Control.
- Experience with CANopen, FreeRTOS, STM32, or ARM microcontrollers.
- Conversational Japanese for collaboration with other departments and teams.
