Senior UX Researcher (Digital Experience): Synthesizing member feedback, behavioral analytics, and qualitative and quantitative research to improve digital customer journeys with an accent on user interviews, usability testing, ethnographic studies, and actionable insight development. Focus on designing comprehensive research initiatives, building personas and journey maps, and influencing product strategy through data-driven storytelling.
Location: Hybrid, requiring 3 days per week at the Walnut Creek, California office — 1277 Treat Boulevard, Ste 1000, Walnut Creek, CA 94597, United States

What you will do
- Analyze real-world usage data, behavioral analytics, member feedback, competitive research, and industry insights to identify experience opportunities.
- Conduct generative UX research, including ethnographic studies, interviews, usability testing, and unmoderated testing.
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Develop and maintain user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints.
- Collaborate with UX designers, digital product managers, engineers, and business teams to influence product direction.
- Facilitate workshops, design sprints, and stakeholder meetings while advocating for human-centered design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in user experience research.
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, usability testing, and ethnographic research.
- Knowledge of user-centered design, design thinking, Agile methodologies, digital platform conventions, and interaction models across responsive web, iOS, and Android.
- Experience with research tools and technologies, modern remote research platforms, and unmoderated testing tools; familiarity with Figma or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, storytelling, presentation, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-influence skills.
Nice to have
- 3 or more years of consulting or agency experience.
- Advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, Design, or a related field.
- UX research or design methodology certifications, such as NN/g or UXPA.
- Experience conducting UX research for e-commerce platforms, including customer journeys, conversion funnels, and checkout optimization.
