Lead Game Security Engineer (C++)

Location: On-site at the Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn studio in the United Kingdom. Relocation support is available, including moving assistance and temporary accommodation. Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK.

What you will do

• Build and manage a team of developers and analysts focused on defending games against cheating, piracy, and other threats.
• Shape security architecture for Asura titles and establish a new Game Security team.
• Own the lifecycle framework for monitoring, investigating, identifying, and mitigating security threats.
• Develop in-house reverse-engineering capabilities to analyse and report on malicious code, game cheats, and DRM circumvention.
• Embed security best practices across code teams and support QA in validating and safely releasing defensive software.

Requirements

• Extensive experience delivering anti-cheat and DRM functionality for C++ software in a senior or leadership role.
• Strong expertise in anti-cheat techniques and digital rights management, including the ability to develop these skills in team members.
• Demonstrable experience reverse engineering and analysing game cheats, DRM circumvention, and similar abuse vectors.
• Deep understanding of PE and ELF file formats and tools such as IDA Pro or Ghidra.
• Permanent right to work in the UK without employer visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping or operating online, multiplayer, or live-service games at scale.
• Knowledge of cryptography, network protocols, OpenSSL, and Wireshark.
• Published security research, responsible disclosure, or public white-hat work.
• Familiarity with the Windows Resiliency Initiative.
