Senior Veterinary Toxicologist – Product Safety

Salary: $144,000–$219,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead veterinary toxicology and product safety assessments from early-stage innovation through marketplace stewardship.
• Evaluate ingredients, formulations, materials, and technologies to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
• Develop science-based safety strategies and risk assessment approaches supporting responsible commercialization.
• Partner with research and development, product safety, regulatory, quality, and clinical functions.
• Provide expert guidance on veterinary toxicology, animal safety, and exposure science.
• Support regulatory submissions, post-market safety monitoring, and external scientific collaborations.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD, or equivalent) is required.
• Experience in veterinary toxicology, animal health, product safety, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, or a related scientific field.
• Strong knowledge of toxicology, risk assessment, exposure science, and product safety evaluation.
• Ability to apply scientific expertise to complex technical and business challenges and communicate scientific information clearly.
• Ability to work on a hybrid schedule at the Mason Business Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Nice to have

• PhD in toxicology, pharmacology, or a related discipline.
• Advanced training or board certification in toxicology, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
• Experience managing post-market safety surveillance programs.
