TL;DR
Product Engineer Co-Op (CAD/Product Development): Supporting the design, development, prototyping, and testing of custom storage products with an accent on CAD assemblies, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and lab reporting. Focus on building prototypes, executing testing protocols, analyzing proposed product changes, and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA; onsite role
Salary: $18 per hour minimum

What you will do
- Create parts and assemblies in CAD software, prepare engineering drawings, and release changes through Engineer Change Notices.
- Create or modify technical specifications under the direction of a Product Engineer.
- Prototype products and applications, mock up parts, and evaluate proposed changes.
- Design and execute testing protocols, analyze results, and write laboratory reports.
- Maintain project schedules and budgets while supporting Product Engineers on assigned projects.
- Maintain the test lab and assist with other engineering duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and current college enrollment or graduation within the past two years; engineering education is preferred.
- At least one laboratory course with experience writing lab reports.
- At least one course or training experience using 3D CAD software such as Onshape or SolidWorks.
- Strong interpersonal, computer, and independent working skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds and perform climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and stooping.
- Ability to work onsite in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Nice to have
- Experience creating CAD parts, assemblies, and drawings.
- Knowledge of shop tools such as chop saws, hand drills, nail guns, and drivers.

- Planned rotations run during Summer 2027, Winter 2028, and Fall 2028, with scheduling subject to agreement.
