AI & Automation Intern - GCN Services Business Operations

Location: Ottawa, Canada; hybrid work with in-office presence three days per week

Hourly pay: $21.00–$28.00 CAD

What you will do

• Design and develop automation solutions and workflows using Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform tools.
• Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for optimization, standardization, and AI-driven transformation.
• Build lightweight applications, dashboards, and scripts for operational reporting and decision-making.
• Translate business requirements into scalable automation solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Apply data analysis and automation concepts to improve service delivery performance and customer experience.

Requirements

• Completion of a third- or fourth-year undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business with an operations focus, or enrollment in a related master’s degree.
• Programming or scripting experience gained through coursework or prior work.
• Foundational knowledge of process improvement, data analysis, and automation concepts.
• Logical thinking and a structured, process-oriented approach to problem solving.
• Availability for a four-month work term from September to December.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar AI and automation tools.
• Coursework or experience in process improvement, workflow automation, or operations-focused initiatives.
• Ability to explain technical solutions in terms of business outcomes.
