TL;DR
Mobile Team Tech Lead (Kotlin/Android): Leading the design and delivery of large-scale consumer banking mobile applications for onboarding, account management, and money movement with an accent on native Android development, architecture, and technical leadership. Focus on building greenfield mobile capabilities, integrating APIs and CI/CD pipelines, and guiding engineers through complex regulatory and multi-market challenges.
Location: On-site five days per week in the WTC area, New York City

What you will do
- Own the technical direction and delivery of client engagements as a hands-on project leader.
- Design, implement, deliver, and test Android and iOS applications for consumer banking.
- Build and modernize mobile experiences for customer onboarding, account management, and money movement.
- Lead a greenfield initiative developing mobile capabilities for new markets and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Guide architecture, engineering practices, technology adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with clients, designers, product partners, engineers, and Lab49 leadership.
Requirements
- 10–12+ years of experience designing and building complex commercial-grade software systems.
- 4+ years of experience leading Agile teams.
- Strong Kotlin and native Android development experience, including Jetpack Compose.
- Experience in consumer banking, especially account management and onboarding.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Swift and native iOS development experience with SwiftUI and UIKit.
- Experience with fraud management, KYC, AML, regulatory reporting, or on-device biometric authentication.
- Released applications on the Google Play Store and experience with enterprise app distribution or AppConfig standards.
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Claude Code, or Copilot.
