Solutions Architect (Pre-sales) – Manufacturing & Automotive

What you will do

• Develop technical engagement strategies for strategic automotive and manufacturing accounts in partnership with Account Executives and cross-functional specialists.
• Lead the full pre-sales lifecycle, including discovery, requirements gathering, solution scoping, architecture design, workshops, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and implementation planning.
• Design end-to-end solutions using Databricks and AWS, Azure, or GCP, integrating cloud services, enterprise platforms, and third-party applications.
• Build tailored prototypes, demonstrations, reference architectures, migration plans, and customer-facing technical materials.
• Help customers prioritize use cases across connected vehicles, telemetry, quality and warranty, industrial IoT, smart factories, supply chain, engineering and R&D, aftersales, EVs, and battery analytics.
• Influence technical and executive stakeholders while collaborating with Product, Engineering, Services, Customer Success, Partners, Marketing, Sales, and Field Engineering.

Requirements

• Experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, technical architecture, or an equivalent customer-facing role involving complex sales lifecycles.
• Technical background in data engineering, data warehousing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, enterprise data platforms, or distributed data systems.
• Experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including complex proof-of-concepts and technical demonstrations.
• Ability to code in Python or SQL and willingness to deepen knowledge of Apache Spark; experience with Scala, Java, or R is beneficial.
• Strong communication, presentation, whiteboarding, storytelling, collaboration, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Business-professional Japanese is required; business-level English is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive manufacturers, suppliers, industrial companies, transportation providers, or mobility businesses.
• Familiarity with vehicle platforms, connected vehicles, smart factories, industrial IoT, supply-chain analytics, quality and warranty analytics, EVs, or battery analytics.
• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, MLflow, Delta Lake, lakehouse architectures, or comparable data and AI platforms.
• Experience coaching technical professionals or account teams, or relevant Databricks, cloud, or data certifications.
