Chief of Staff to the CTO

Location: Remote working; collaboration spans European and US hours.

Salary: €6,500–€7,300 gross per month

What you will do

• Run the engineering leadership cadence, including director-level syncs, agendas, documented decisions, and follow-through.
• Own the quarterly OKR and QBR cycle, including objective updates, follow-ups, status reviews, and executive preparation.
• Maintain a live record of leadership decisions and commitments and drive them to closure.
• Identify stalled or ownerless cross-team initiatives and establish clear ownership and checkpoints.
• Coordinate special projects such as organizational models, data-team setup, vendor selection, security consulting, AI-agent programs, technical audits, and tool pilots.
• Prepare concise, decision-ready materials for the CTO, executive team, and board-level audiences.

Requirements

• Experience running engineering operations, technical program management, or an equivalent organizational operating system at scale.
• Demonstrated ownership of ambiguous, multi-team initiatives delivered through influence rather than direct authority.
• Strong executive synthesis, operating discipline, and ability to build durable planning and follow-up systems.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, engineering managers, and directors without acting as the technical authority.
• Fluent English at C1+ level and Russian required for internal and external technical communications.

Nice to have

• Chief of Staff, Engineering Operations, or TPM-lead experience reporting to engineering leadership.
• Experience improving efficiency in engineering organizations of 100+ people using automation and AI tooling.
• Procurement, vendor contracting, or budgeting experience.
• Nonprofit technology or payments-domain familiarity.
• Familiarity with Node.js, NestJS, React, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Kafka, Cloudflare, PCI DSS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
