Senior Backend Golang Engineer

Location: Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine; remote work under a ForeverRemote culture.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable Golang backend services, RESTful APIs, and stable data contracts.
• Build asynchronous, event-driven communication with reliable messaging, idempotency, error handling, and backward compatibility.
• Design distributed systems and microservices focused on scalability, resilience, maintainability, and production performance.
• Develop secure APIs and integrations with enterprise platforms including Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, ServiceNow, and Genesys Cloud.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, technical knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests for APIs, business logic, and service integrations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong professional experience with Golang backend applications, concurrency, and asynchronous workflows.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with AWS, cloud-native architectures, microservices, distributed systems, relational or NoSQL databases, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of API design, event schema evolution, authentication, authorization, identity management, and secure integrations.
• Commitment to automated testing, including unit and integration testing.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, TypeScript, and Protobuf.
• Experience with Azure or GCP.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, or other monitoring and observability tools.
• Experience with Keycloak, Auth0, Okta, or similar identity and access management solutions.
