Technical Personal Injury Handler

Location: Hybrid work across the Liverpool or Sevenoaks sites in the UK

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:30.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of technically complex, high-value, and litigated personal injury claims.
• Handle claims within delegated authority, maintaining accurate diaries, KPIs, and SLAs.
• Review reserves, refer claims exceeding authority, and mitigate leakage and claims spend.
• Drive and negotiate settlements at the earliest appropriate opportunity.
• Use external providers such as barristers, solicitors, medical experts, adjusters, investigators, and rehabilitation providers when appropriate.
• Support audits, train less experienced claims handlers, and contribute to technical claims strategies.

Requirements

• Experience handling personal injury claims.
• Understanding of case law, statute, CPR, and Pre-Action Protocols.
• Ability to take ownership, use initiative, and organise and prioritise work effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Applicants must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
