Senior UX Designer (Autonomy): Defining the design vision for an autonomous ground support equipment service and building fleet operations interfaces for remote assistance, dispatch, monitoring, and customer dashboards with an accent on information-dense workflows, real-time data, and safety-critical decision-making. Focus on establishing design systems from scratch, translating autonomy states and system confidence into clear interfaces, and conducting research with airline, airport, and operations users.

What you will do
- Define the design vision, principles, standards, patterns, and component library for the autonomous ground support equipment service.
- Design remote assistance, dispatch, and fleet monitoring tools from discovery through high-fidelity execution.
- Create high-information-density interfaces for real-time operator workflows, escalation handling, and safety-critical decisions.
- Design airline- and airport-facing dashboards, performance reporting, and SLA visibility tools.
- Establish a consistent interaction and visual language across operator and customer products.
- Conduct usability testing, contextual inquiry, operator shadowing, and customer research, translating findings into product requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience owning complex, multi-surface products end to end.
- Experience designing operator-facing or operations tooling where reliability is critical.
- Portfolio demonstrating information-dense interfaces, real-time data, and complex workflows.
- Experience launching 0-to-1 products and establishing design standards, component libraries, or design systems from scratch.
- Exceptional interaction design, visual design, information architecture, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- BFA, BS, or equivalent experience in Design, HCI, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Experience with teleoperations, remote assistance, fleet management, or real-time monitoring products.
- Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, aviation, industrial operations, or other safety-critical domains.
- Experience as a first designer or early design hire at a startup.
- Experience designing for time pressure, cognitive load, system confidence, uncertainty, and degraded states.
- Familiarity with airline, airport, or large-scale fleet operations environments and front-end implementation discussions.
