Azure Virtual Desktop Architect (Microsoft Azure)

Location: Łódź, Poland; hybrid work requiring three days per week in the Łódź office

Salary: PLN 210,000–330,000 gross annually

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end architecture and strategic roadmap for the Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop environment.
• Design scalable, resilient, secure AVD solutions aligned with enterprise cloud and infrastructure standards.
• Establish architecture principles, design patterns, governance standards, reference architectures, and operational documentation.
• Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, engineering, operations, and support teams on security controls, hardening, risk mitigation, and complex architecture decisions.
• Optimize Azure consumption, licensing, resource utilization, and platform costs through FinOps initiatives.
• Collaborate with Microsoft and technology partners to evaluate emerging capabilities and continuous-improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
• Deep knowledge of Azure architecture, virtual desktop technologies, modern workplace solutions, and AVD components including host pools, session hosts, image management, user profiles, and application delivery.
• Experience developing secure infrastructure architectures, implementing Azure security controls, and creating technology roadmaps and governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Azure cost management and cloud cost optimization, with the ability to solve complex problems and influence decisions across teams.
• Ability to work from the Łódź office three days per week.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty certification.
• Experience with Azure security services, cloud governance, enterprise-scale virtual desktop migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Experience developing cloud architecture standards in large multinational organizations.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, automation, and cloud operational excellence practices.
