Lighting Artist (Houdini/Arnold)

Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom, or Paris, France. A current and full work permit is required for the region where the work is performed; disclose any need for sponsorship support.

What you will do

• Light VFX shots in Houdini using SOP-based workflows and Arnold.
• Match lighting style, mood, continuity, and references or templates.
• Review slap comps and render passes to ensure seamless compositing integration.
• Troubleshoot missing data, render issues, workflow inconsistencies, and lighting automation.
• Optimise scenes, caches, and render settings for efficient farm submission and noise-free final renders.
• Collaborate with comp, layout, and FX while maintaining clean scenes, version control, and clear communication.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Houdini, including SOP-based lighting workflows, and Arnold rendering.
• Good understanding of light, shadow, colour, photorealism, AOVs, render settings, and scene management.
• Familiarity with USD/LOPs workflows in Houdini and render troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, prioritisation, and time-management skills.
• 3–4 years of experience in VFX or a related field.
• Current and full work permit required for the region where the work is performed; sponsorship needs must be disclosed.
