Lead Research Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Amsterdam, with relocation possible, or remote

What you will do

• Own the research platform end to end, including architecture, delivery, adoption, and impact.
• Build and lead a small platform team through hiring, mentoring, and ownership definition.
• Create a seamless path from quantitative research to production using reproducible environments and deployment workflows.
• Define APIs, artifact formats, data contracts, and promotion gates between research and production.
• Build unified data, backtesting, and simulation infrastructure for market and alternative data, including measurement of deviations between backtested and live results.
• Design deterministic, machine-readable interfaces for researchers and AI agents, and turn research bottlenecks into platform capabilities.

Requirements

• Hands-on leadership across platform architecture and software development.
• Experience building a research-to-production platform from the ground up.
• Ability to work with quantitative researchers on research throughput and platform bottlenecks.
• Experience designing APIs, data contracts, deployment workflows, and reproducible environments.
• Experience leading a small engineering team and making build-versus-buy and prioritization decisions.
• Ability to work from Amsterdam with relocation possible, or work remotely.
