Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Software-Focused)

TL;DR

Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Software-Focused): Designing and building internal platforms that improve the reliability, observability, and scalability of Asana's infrastructure with an accent on storage reliability, incident response, and service-oriented architecture. Focus on leading end-to-end projects across multiple systems and teams, and debugging production issues.

Location: This role is based in our Warsaw office with an office-centric hybrid schedule - in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Salary: 35 000 - 40 000 PLN gross monthly on the contract of employment (UoP)

What you will do

• Design and build frameworks, tools, and services that improve the reliability, observability, and scalability of Asana’s infrastructure.
• Lead end-to-end projects, from scoping and design through to rollout, across multiple systems and teams.
• Improve the operability of stateful infrastructure like MySQL, OpenSearch, and DynamoDB.
• Debug production issues across the stack.
• Partner with product teams to shape a service-oriented architecture that enables fast, reliable development.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background.
• 5+ years of experience building and operating backend systems at scale.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and storage technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Search), especially in cloud environments.
• Experience with AWS services (e.g. RDS, EKS, IAM), Terraform, and monitoring tooling like Datadog or similar.
• Solid understanding of SRE principles (e.g. SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident response).
• Clear communicator and strong collaborator.
