What you will do
- Design and implement flight software for TeraWave command and data handling, including command routing, onboard data management, telemetry, and subsystem control.
- Develop telecommand and telemetry processing, spacecraft time management, GPS/GNSS synchronization, and precision timing distribution.
- Create secure software interfaces between command and data handling and other spacecraft subsystems.
- Build simulation environments and models for nominal and off-nominal scenarios.
- Support architecture reviews, systems engineering trade studies, software integration, verification, and validation in SIL and HIL environments.
- Support on-orbit operations and troubleshooting while mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of spacecraft flight software or embedded software development experience.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python, with knowledge of object-oriented design and modular software layering.
- Experience with RTOS environments such as Linux, QNX, VxWorks, or RTEMS; spacecraft avionics functions; and CCSDS telecommand and telemetry standards.
- Experience with cybersecurity for space systems, embedded C/C++ unit testing, IPC, cross-compilation, embedded Linux build systems, Git, CI/CD, containers, and mission-critical verification.
- Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS-422/485, static analysis, and MISRA C/C++ standards.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with on-orbit operations, satellite constellation management, OTA updates, onboard time management, or GPS-disciplined synchronization.
- Familiarity with NASA cFS, F Prime, FDIR, autonomy software, and radiation-effect mitigation.
Culture & Benefits
- Safety-focused, collaborative, and inclusive workplace.
- Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and paid parental leave.
