TL;DR
Senior Material Planner (HDD Manufacturing): Planning and controlling material supply for high-volume hard disk drive production with an accent on demand analysis, inventory optimization, and cross-functional material flow coordination. Focus on identifying supply risks, improving forecast accuracy, building reporting tools, and applying AI or statistical methods to manufacturing decisions.
Location: On-site in Korat, Thailand. Travel: None.
Company
operates a large manufacturing facility in Korat producing cloud-based storage equipment, from storage components to finished drives.
What you will do
- Plan and control material supply to match production requirements and product mix.
- Analyze demand, supply, planning assumptions, and key parameters to provide accurate signals to Purchasing.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, and Engineering to maintain material flow and resolve issues.
- Support production build plans and delivery commitments while monitoring inventory and working capital.
- Identify supply risks, implement mitigation plans, and drive inventory optimization initiatives.
- Analyze planning data and provide insights to improve forecast accuracy and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Excellent written and spoken English required for communication in a global environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for material planning, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in HDD manufacturing or another high-volume production environment.
- Background in material planning, production control, or manufacturing engineering.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, demand planning, and continuous improvement methods such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive continuous improvement.
Nice to have
- Experience with digital transformation or data-driven manufacturing decisions.
- Ability to build dashboards or reporting tools with Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with predictive analysis or forecasting using AI or statistical tools.
