What you will do
- Help clients embed data governance into daily business practices, prioritizing areas with high business value and stakeholder support.
- Identify stakeholders, business pain points, and governance gaps with business and IT teams.
- Define ownership models for Data Owners, Data Stewards, Data Custodians, and decision forums.
- Facilitate workshops that align technical and business stakeholders on ownership, definitions, and decision-making.
- Translate ambiguous governance challenges into actionable implementation approaches.
- Create reusable governance templates, playbooks, and accelerators across projects and clients.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, analytics, business analysis, or a related field.
- Experience initiating data or governance efforts from scratch and securing sponsorship and stakeholder buy-in.
- Ability to engage directly with senior business stakeholders and build relationships.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate data concepts into business value for technical and business audiences.
- Working understanding of data platforms and the role of governance.
- Proactive approach, comfort with ambiguity, and resilience.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with DAMA-DMBOK, CDMP, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or Microsoft Purview.
- Experience in ESG, Finance, HR, Operations, Supply Chain, consulting, international, or multi-entity environments.
- Basic SQL, BI, or data platform knowledge.
- Awareness of GDPR or other data protection principles.
