Senior AI/Data Science Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with commuting to London 2 days per week

Salary: £76,800–£115,200 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain AWS cloud and on-premise infrastructure for Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and product development teams.
• Operate and improve the MLOps platform, responding to service requests, troubleshooting issues, and increasing reliability and usability.
• Build and operate Kubernetes platforms, including workloads, services, storage resources, and Helm deployments.
• Develop maintainable infrastructure changes using Terraform or OpenTofu and GitOps-oriented delivery practices.
• Operate production systems, diagnose incidents, manage changes safely, and prevent recurring issues.
• Collaborate across engineering teams and communicate technical risks, trade-offs, and design decisions clearly.

Requirements

• Strong practical experience with Kubernetes, including Pods, ReplicaSets, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, PVs/PVCs, and Helm.
• Experience with declarative, version-controlled delivery, pull requests, peer review, and approval gates.
• Cloud infrastructure experience, with AWS strongly preferred, plus knowledge of IAM, networking, compute, storage, and observability.
• Hands-on Docker experience building, debugging, and maintaining secure, efficient images.
• Experience operating production systems and delivering improvements to developer experience, reliability, security, delivery speed, or operational efficiency.
• Ability to commute to London 2 days per week.

• Experience with Kanban or Scrum.
• Knowledge of or collaboration with Machine Learning teams.
