Remote Full Stack Developer (Frontend-Focused) - Canada

Location: Remote in Canada; Toronto, Ontario

What you will do

• Build custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg blocks using ACF or React, and plugins from design specifications.
• Translate mockups into responsive, accessible frontend implementations with HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript.
• Develop and maintain Drupal themes, content types, and module-level functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve frontend and backend issues across WordPress, Drupal, and other CMS platforms.
• Collaborate with designers, consultants, and clients to refine website implementations.
• Use AI tools such as Claude Code to plan and execute parts of large projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• 3+ years of building and customizing WordPress websites, including Gutenberg block development.
• Strong HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of PHP 7.x/8.x and confidence reading, debugging, and extending WordPress and Drupal codebases.
• Practical Drupal experience, familiarity with WordPress hooks and filters, and knowledge of MySQL, Git, and LAMP-stack conventions.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating in a remote, client-facing environment.

Nice to have

• React or Angular experience.
• Laravel or Symfony experience.
• Docker and Linux familiarity.
• AWS or other cloud platform experience.
• Additional familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code.
