Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States. US Citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain a United States Confidential Clearance is required.

Salary: $117,000–$185,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $145,000–$218,000 annually.

What you will do

• Administer, automate, and improve joiner, mover, and leaver identity lifecycle processes.
• Manage roles, groups, entitlements, privileged access assignments, approval structures, and access request workflows.
• Build and maintain IAM workflows, connectors, integrations, and automated access fulfillment processes.
• Onboard enterprise applications and identity sources into IAM governance and provisioning processes.
• Troubleshoot authentication, federation, provisioning, and access issues as a Tier 2/3 escalation point.
• Monitor IAM platform health and drive improvements in scalability, efficiency, governance, and user experience.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, or supporting Identity and Access Management solutions.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise IAM platforms such as Entra ID, Okta, or similar solutions.
• Understanding of identity lifecycle management, RBAC, access governance, least-privilege models, and privileged access.
• Experience with audit, compliance, governance activities, and troubleshooting identity and authentication issues in regulated environments.
• US Citizenship required.
• Must be able to obtain a United States Confidential Clearance.

Nice to have

• IAM automation, workflow development, scripting, and application integration experience.
• Knowledge of SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and SCIM protocols.
• Experience with cloud and SaaS application onboarding or PAM administration.
• Experience using AI to improve processes or develop automations.
• Familiarity with identity certifications, access reviews, role management, and automation-first engineering environments.
