Forward Deployed Engineer (Edge AI)

Location: New York, New York; hybrid, based out of the NYC office with three days in the office required. Travel to client sites may be required for up to 30% of the time.

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Deploy and maintain edge AI systems in factories and warehouses.
• Observe real-world operations, define customer problems, and turn vague goals into clear scopes and success criteria.
• Prototype, test, validate, and tune workflows for hazard detection, interaction tracking, exposure timing, alerts, and fix verification.
• Work directly with technicians, customer teams, and executives to ensure deployed solutions address operational needs.
• Collaborate with backend, frontend, and research teams to turn field solutions into reusable product modules and improvements.
• Create deployment documentation, playbooks, and processes that support scaling across regions.

Requirements

• Ability and interest to travel to client sites for up to 30% of the time, as needed.
• At least 1 year of relevant post-college work experience.
• Strong engineering background, preferably in computer science, mathematics, software engineering, physics, or data science.
• Strong coding skills with proficiency in Python, TypeScript or JavaScript, and React or similar technologies.
• Experience building and deploying products end to end, with strong practical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Comfort testing, developing, and validating edge AI workflows on site with users.

Nice to have

• Computer vision or edge systems experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments.
• Founder or early-stage builder experience with end-to-end ownership.
