Software Engineer (Frontend) (Vue.js/TypeScript): Building high-performance interfaces that control automated restaurants and provide real-time visibility into robotic kitchen operations with an accent on WebSockets, reactive state management, and frontend performance. Focus on translating Figma designs into resilient operator tools, processing high-frequency machine data, and solving complex performance challenges in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
Location: Boston office in Charlestown, Massachusetts; three days per week in the office required
Base salary: $139,500–$145,500 per year

What you will do
- Develop and maintain Vue.js applications used by restaurant operators to monitor and control robotic kitchen equipment.
- Build and optimize WebSocket-based communication between cloud infrastructure and on-premise robotics.
- Translate Figma designs into intuitive, high-performance interfaces in collaboration with Product Designers.
- Diagnose and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks involving complex state changes and high-frequency data.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and product teams to deliver resilient automation features.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional frontend development experience.
- Deep expertise in Vue.js or a similar frontend framework, TypeScript, and CSS.
- Strong experience with centralized state management and complex reactive data structures.
- Experience building applications with persistent, two-way real-time communication.
- Ability to use profiling tools to identify and resolve performance issues under heavy loads.
- Availability to work in the Boston office three days per week.
Nice to have
- Experience with Elixir or Phoenix, or willingness to learn them.
- Experience contributing to UI/UX and product design discussions.
