Digital Systems Engineer (TypeScript/Python)

Location: Based in the Budapest, Hungary office or the Somerville, Massachusetts, USA office.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and ship custom features, applications, and services in TypeScript, React, and Python.
• Build and maintain integrations between Shopify, Salesforce, NetSuite, BigQuery, and internal middleware using REST and GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and event-driven patterns.
• Develop Shopify Apps, Functions, Extensions, and Admin and Storefront API integrations for a headless B2B commerce platform.
• Build internal tools, automations, and cloud-native services that improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Salesforce, Data Platform, Infrastructure, engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.
• Apply code review, automated testing, CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building web applications, platforms, services, or integrations.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with TypeScript and Python.
• Experience with enterprise or business-critical systems such as eCommerce, CRM, or ERP, plus REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and middleware.
• Ability to write SQL queries and working knowledge of data warehouses such as BigQuery.
• Fluency with Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized development and deployment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration.
• Experience with Rust or Shopify development.
• Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, iPaaS middleware, AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions, or Cloud Run.
• Experience with ERP, CRM, marketing automation, data analytics, or business intelligence systems.
• Ability to effectively leverage AI coding tools.
