Location: Italy — Padova preferred, or Legnano (MI); office-based role

What you will do
- Support sales teams in identifying opportunities and work with customer system architects and R&D teams to propose Microchip solutions.
- Provide engineering support throughout customer design phases, anticipate technical issues, and coordinate with business-unit application teams.
- Adapt reference designs to customer requirements for wired communication applications.
- Deliver and facilitate customer technical training with the Regional Training Centre.
- Support other field application engineers and collaborate with sales, application engineering teams, and channel partners across EMEA.
- Contribute to growth initiatives in 5G, data centers, autonomous driving, IoT, electric vehicles, and artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Requirements
- BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in embedded systems design.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols, including physical and application layers such as TCP/IP.
- Knowledge of wired communication hardware, security standards, industrial and automotive protocol stacks, and MCU/MPU peripherals and drivers across bare-metal, RTOS, Zephyr, and Linux environments.
- Fluent Italian and English, written and spoken.
- Ability to work across teams, develop innovative customer solutions, travel to the USA and Europe, and hold a valid driving license.
