Product Engineer Backend (Global Supply)

What you will do

• Drive specifications and implementation for foundational capabilities across services and platforms.
• Prototype with working code, resolve open questions, and finalize product requirements with stakeholders.
• Own quality standards, measurement, phased rollouts, production releases, and post-launch operations.
• Make architecture decisions about shared global capabilities versus market-specific functionality.
• Build marketplace foundations supporting listings, APIs, search, pricing, recommendations, multiple currencies, languages, and regulatory environments.

Requirements

• End-to-end ownership from specification concretization and stakeholder alignment through production release and operations.
• Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, including reviewing and safely integrating their output.
• Ability to prototype quickly and make autonomous architecture, API, data, security, and operations decisions.
• Ability to work across backend, frontend, mobile, and QA areas and learn unfamiliar domains.
• Willingness to mentor and coach colleagues.
• English proficiency at CEFR B2 or above is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with systems serving multiple countries, currencies, or regulatory environments.
• Experience extracting shared capabilities from a single-market system.
• Experience designing APIs or data models for teams outside direct control.
• Experience with on-call, incident response, or long-term ownership after launch.
• Knowledge of C2C/B2C marketplaces, commerce, logistics, or cross-border domains; Japanese is a plus.
