Lead Plant Engineer (Mining)

Location: Kinderdijk, Netherlands; candidates must be based in the Netherlands or hold a valid EU work permit.

Salary: €4,500–€6,600 gross per month, plus 8% holiday allowance.

What you will do

• Translate process flow diagrams into practical plant configurations, equipment arrangements, and integrated layouts.
• Develop and review P&IDs, piping routing concepts, equipment layouts, and multidisciplinary design philosophies.
• Coordinate process, mechanical, piping, structural, and electrical interfaces, including equipment loads and supporting structures.
• Prepare equipment specifications, layout drawings, interface documents, and technical deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews, multidisciplinary workshops, commissioning, and FAT/SAT activities.
• Coordinate work packages with international stakeholders and engineering partners while contributing to continuous improvement.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in industrial plant engineering, process installations, or heavy industrial projects, including greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Experience with equipment arrangement, piping routing, multidisciplinary plant design, and structural support concepts.
• Experience with 3D plant design environments such as AVEVA E3D, PDMS, Plant 3D, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of process design principles, PFDs, P&IDs, piping and industrial installation codes, and standards.
• Strong English communication skills and the right to work in the Netherlands or EU.

Nice to have

• Dutch proficiency.
• Experience in mining, minerals processing, chemical, petrochemical, energy, offshore, or industrial manufacturing.
