What you will do
- Design, build, and operate a new source-of-truth, open-source NewSQL database running on stateful Kubernetes.
- Investigate database internals, SQL latency, and availability issues.
- Build infrastructure for data workload migration, including automated failover and replication.
- Partner with open-source database vendors on root cause analysis and upstream contributions.
- Develop frameworks for monitoring, observability, permissions, and service discovery.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with database or storage internals such as query execution, storage engines, or consensus.
- Ability to own and dive deeply into complex, open-source codebases.
- Experience maintaining, analyzing, and debugging high-severity production incidents.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in a remote working environment.
