TL;DR
Data Scientist (AI) (Python/statistical modelling): Building and improving residential property valuation models, market metrics, and customer-focused AI products with an accent on feature engineering, statistical modelling, and machine learning. Focus on prototyping and tuning models, validating performance, and collaborating with ML Engineers to productionise improvements.
Location: Hybrid role based in Sydney, Australia

What you will do
- Design and develop AI solutions using AWS, Docker, Python, BigQuery, and related technologies.
- Extract, clean, manipulate, and process data from multiple sources for modelling.
- Engineer new features for the PropTrack AI platform.
- Prototype and build statistical and machine learning models to improve performance.
- Tune hyperparameters, cross-validate models, and maintain model visualisation tools.
- Document projects, maintain code repositories, and present work to data science and wider REA audiences.
Requirements
- 2+ years of industry experience in data science, ML engineering, data analysis, or a similar role.
- Tertiary qualifications in data science, econometrics, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Strong Python skills, including pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
- Expertise in statistical modelling and machine learning theory, with a structured approach to building, testing, and iterating on models.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large or complex datasets.
- Experience deploying models to production, including CI, infrastructure as code, and containerisation, plus strong communication and collaboration skills.
